Microsoft’s CMO Chris Capossela has laid to rest months of rumors suggesting the existence of Lumia 650 Chris said in a Windows   Weekly Podcast   that the Lumia 650 actually exists, but a release date yet to go official. Microsoft Lumia 650 is expected to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 212 chip backed by 1GB RAM and 8GB on-board storage which could be expandable. The 5-inch smartphone is said to feature an 8MP primary camera and 5MP FFC, Front Facing Camera. We expect the upcoming smartphone to hit storeshelves January or February 2016. Just when some speculated Tecno ended the Phantom series with Tecno Phantom Z and was focusing primarily on the low-end market, we received a tip from a reliable source earlier today that the next Phantom is coming and it’s going to be pretty big. We reported about two days ago that a new device in the Phantom series is on it’s way . It’s going to be Tecno’s biggest device ever and we’ve already confirmed the launch date. A few weeks ago, we reported that NCC was cracking down on mobile networks that had unregistered subscribers using their network, stipulating a N200,000 fine for every unregistered subscriber. According to Pulse, the first set of fines have been levied on MTN, Globacom, Etisalat and Airtel who are to pay N102.2 million, N7.4 million, N7 million and N3.8 million respectively for non- compliance. The fine is expected to be paid by 9 of September or the network operators risk N100,000 daily incremental charges once the deadline is passed. In the letter sent to MTN, the NCC expressed that they placed voice calls to 402 unregistered MTN subscribers, and the feedback gotten showed that the network wasn’t making enough efforts to get their subscribers registered. This is a first in a series of crackdown from NCC, and the regulator might be threatening more fines sooner if the network operators don’t take immediate steps to comply.
